We are now only approximately 6 weeks away from the Wythall Village Carnival which is being held on 14th August 2016 from 13:00 – 17:00 at Wythall Park, Silver Street and celebrates the Golden (50th) Anniversary of the Park
The Carnival has lots of new and interesting events and stalls including The Tournee Medieval Re-Enactment Organisation showcasing life in medieval times and fighting techniques of that time. Arena events also include a dance display by the Sorella Academy, a Karate demonstration by Furi Sutairu Shotokan and a Birds of Prey display. We have the miniature steam train from the Wythall Transport Museum, Birmingham Bumper Balls and over 70 stalls selling everything from food to local crafts. As usual, the always popular Dog Show and Classic Car Show will also be there
A special commemorative 50 Golden Years Programme will be sent out later in July with the Wythall Community Newsletter detailing the arena programme, a full list of stalls and raffle prizes. There will be children’s competitions and a special prize associated with a “Lucky Number” programme – so please remember to bring the completed tear off slip and put it in the box to stand a chance of winning.
We desperately need volunteers to help on the Saturday to set-up the area and particularly on the Sunday to help with a variety of tasks, before, during and after the Carnival. If you can help please email Sarah Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact her on 07973 821 556
Please support this truly local event which raises charitable funds in order to maintain and upkeep Wythall Park for the Community. Make sure you reserve the 14th August 2016 in your diary, it promises to be a fun afternoon for everybody with lots to see and do, come rain or shine!
